Mental health is something many of us carry in silence.

Defy Threads was born from some of the hardest chapters of our lives: battling depression and experiencing the loss of someone deeply loved.

He was a brother, a son, an uncle, and a friend to many. At his funeral, one thing stood out: the impact he had on others. His kindness. His presence. His ability to be a light even while facing his own darkness.

He struggled quietly, and his life was cut far too short. But the light he left behind was something we couldn’t ignore.

We made a decision to carry that light forward.

Those experiences changed how we looked at life. They taught us that we don’t always get to choose what happens to us, but we do get to choose what we do next.

We can remain where life left us, or we can begin the climb.

That choice is Ascension.
